There is a minimum donation of $10 at the door and proceeds from will support Breast Cancer Awareness.

Michael Everidge Sentenced to 17 Years in Prison
AUGUSTA, GA - Authorities have announced that 18-year-old Michael Everidge received a sentence of 17 years in prison for his guilty plea to voluntary manslaughter in an incident at the Augusta Youth Development Campus.
Everidge and another inmate, 19-year-old Jade Holder, agreed to enter a fight for bumping into one another in the hallway.
According to witnesses, Holder appeared to be winning the fight and threw his hands in the air to signal a defeat and the end of the fight. However, Everidge was able to slam his body down on the concrete floor and began to kick and punch him relentlessly.
Holder later died due to head trauma according to an autopsy report.

Police Respond To Ware High Bomb Threat
WAYCROSS, GA - Police have responded to a bomb threat called into Ware County High School. Many students had already left campus at the time of the bomb threat report, and remaining students have been evacuated safely.
The bomb threat was called in around 3:30pm. Responders are currently searching the building for any signs of a bomb or suspicious activity.

Pierce School Bus Driver Possibly DUI
BLACKSHEAR, GA - A Pierce County school bus driver was arrested and charged with driving under the influence (pending blood tests) while on route with children on board Monday morning.
Thomas Franklin Walker Sr. is the driver, currently in custody of the Blackshear Police Department, who reportedly drove erratically, deviated from normal course, and even let children off improper locations.
One child was so frightened that he demanded that Walker let him off the bus, and Walker did. This child contacted parents whom reported the incident with Blackshear Police.
There were no injuries or accidents involved in the incident, thankfully.

Hometown Harvest is Thursday, October 25
DOUGLAS, GA - The City of Douglas Main Street is hosting a Hometown Harvest for children up to age 12 to participate in on Thursday, October, 25th, from 4:00pm - 7:30pm. The Hometown Harvest will be held in the vacant lot adjacent to City Hall, unless weather calls for the event to be moved into the Central Square Complex, Gym A.
Local churches, schools, merchants, and community organizations will be participating in the event and handing out candy to children. There will be an open play area and a costume contest for the kids. Contest registration is from 4:00pm to 5:30pm and the contest begins at 6:00pm - winners will be announced at 7:00pm.

63rd Army-Air Forces Flight Training Detachment Reunion
DOUGLAS, GA - [News release from City of Douglas]
The City of Douglas Central Services Department is proud to announce that the cadets from the 63rd Army-Air Forces Flight Training Detachment will be returning to Douglas for their reunion, October 14 – 19, 2012.
The City of Douglas and the 63rd AAF-FTD Preservation Society have begun making plans to create another memorable reunion for these cadets and their families.
During World War II, the Raymond Richardson Aviation Company, established the 63rd Army Air Force Flight Training Pilot School to train cadets to fly and teach them hands-on experiences.
The historic base is located in the Gene Chambers Douglas Municipal Airport and is the most intact World War II civilian primary flying training center in the United States.
Many of the buildings, the field, and hangars are the same as they were during World War II. The instructor barracks is now home to the World War II Flight Training Museum and exhibits artifacts from the 63rd’s training days.

Teen Maze at Ware High Monday, Tuesday
WAYCROSS, GA - Teen Maze 2012 will be happening at Ware High on Monday and Tuesday in an effort to make Ware County high school students aware of the consequences of risky situations and how to successfully navigate through the "maze" of real adult life.
The program has students participate in different scenarios ranging from texting while driving, driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and engaging in sexual activity. Emergency response vehicles and rescue teams will be present as part of the Teen Maze production.
Parents and legal guardians of Ware County high school students are invited to the Community Preview Night on Monday at 6:00pm at the Ware County High School.
